Last year's workshops were full and we anticipate an even bigger turn-out this time around, so early registration is highly recommended.
FRIDAY, APRIL 29th 10am - 3pm
"MIDNIGHT BEACON" 12" x 16" - This session will provide tips for creating a convincing night-time scene. The glow in the light-keepers quarters tells a story and suggests activity inside. You will learn to control light and dark values to establish "mood". Class starts at 10am.
SATURDAY, APRIL 30th 10am - 3pm
"FARM POND" 12" x 16" - Old, rustic barns are a favorite subject of mine. Their charm and character beg to be captured on canvas! This class will give you a first-hand opportunity to see my approach to this subject and I'll share my "tricks of the trade" for rendering realistic, weathered barn wood.
Class starts at 10am.
SUNDAY, MAY 1st 10am - 3pm
"OCEAN SPRAY" (This is a "knife"-painting project. 11" x 14") - This project is rendered solely with painting knives, which yields a more impressionistic result. My knife paintings are very popular with my students and I receive requests all the time to teach this style of painting. Knife-work is very conducive to creating seascapes. All the action, movement and turbulence of ocean water can easily be suggested in broad, sweeping strokes of the blade. This will be a great chance to see my approach up close and personal! Class starts at 10am
