As some of you are aware, I was asked to write an instructional book for North Light Books. This offer was extended to me in late May of 2007. As you may imagine, it was a tremendous amount of work, but the end result was well worth it.
I was very fortunate in that this offer literally fell in my lap. It was nothing that I had inquired about or even imagined, but came about as a result of the folks at F+W Publishing stumbling across my webpage. F+W based in Cincinnati, Ohio, is the largest publisher of all art related books in the country. They also publish the Artist Magazine and host Wetcanvas.com, which I am sure most of you are familiar with. My book features 10 Acrylic paintings depicting animals in country landscapes.
Glenda and I were at the North Light Studio in Cincinnati the last week of November for the "photo shoot", wherein I painted all 10 projects so that step-by-step photographs could be documented. The NL staff was great and everything went smoother than planned. My Editor, Sarah Laichas and Photographer Christine Polomsky were extremely helpful and fantastic to work with. I need to send a "Special Thanks" to Pam Wissman and Barb Kraus for making this book a possibilty in the first place.
The book is now available through North Light Books, the Creative Painting Book Club, Amazon.com and most book stores in the country, including Borders, Waldenbooks and Barnes and Noble.
